Seark Sod Farm was established in 2002 by Kim and Sharon Ellington and has been family owned and operated ever since. Why did we get started in the sod business you might ask? We had two old oak tress in our front yard which put off too much shade for most grasses to grow abundantly, and we needed a shade tolerant grass under those trees. So we started doing research and found that the Gulf Goast was the best place to buy St. Augustine Shade Grass. Kim being a third generation farmer and having a degree in agriculture from Mississippi State University knew he could grow sod in Southeast Arkansas, so thus Seark Sod Farm was born. Sharon brings her experience in sales, customer service and advertising to the business.
Seark Sod Farm has each year expanded it's business, and now has customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Kim and Sharron will be married 25 years and have two children, Chris & Emily, in college. Farming has been in Kim’s blood for many years, and they both enjoy working in the sod business.
